A Summer Roadtrip around Norway

( FILM DIARIES )

The end of summer in Norway can be moody, cold, and rainy, but I was lucky enough to get a full week of sun and higher temperatures: the perfect way to say goodbye to the season.

Erik took me to see a virgin island where poets live and cows are free to run around. We rented bikes and rode across the island: stopping in the forest to find a deer crossing the path, under a tree to have some niste (with the mandatory Kvikk Lunsj), and next to the sea to enjoy the breeze.

We took several roadtrips across Telemark, where there are big contrasts: from rough, mountain vegetation to rocky beaches, all with lush forests and fields in between.

There’s something about the sound of Norway that completely captivated me. I don’t know if it’s the cold wind, the raw nature, or the sharp sea – there’s silence and peace.

Another thing I noticed right away was the clouds: they are bigger, rounder, fluffier.

For a first time visiting Norway, I couldn’t think of a better way of discovering it than driving across it, and I recommend you do the same.

SEE YOU SOON,

X

PATRICIA
